I read today that it is tradition in Scotland to open your front door before midnight on New Year’s Eve to let the old year out and allow the new year in.
After reading that I pictured a quaint cottage in verdant hills in Scotland.
Then I thought that tradition would never work here where home invasion robberies are common.
Maybe I’ll just stick with the American tradition of kissing a loved one at midnight.
