Taylor Swift Drops New Song, ‘Call It What You Want’

Taylor Swift dropped “Call It What You Want,” the fourth and presumably last advance song from her forthcoming album “Reputation,” at midnight E.T. While the song’s fluid melody and love-struck vibe are certainly trademark Swift, it’s more low-key than her last song, the explosive “Gorgeous,” and less idiosyncratic than the previous two, “Look What You Made Me Do” and “Ready for It,” which dropped in August and September. “Call It WhatYou Want,” like “Look What You Made Me Do,” is a collaboration with Bleachers frontman Jack Antonoff, who also contributed to Swift’s 2014 album “1989. "Reputation” is scheduled for a Nov. 10 release.

Thursday morning, ABC announced that it will air a “special performance” of an unspecified new song sometime during “Scandal” on Nov. 9 — the day before the album’s release — followed by an extended version the following day. The network emphasizes that the appearance will be the singer’s first performance of a new song in three years and her first television appearance in promotion of her sixth studio album.

While a full “Reputation” tour has not yet been announced, the singer will appear at at three holiday radio concerts: San Jose, Calif. radio station 99.7 Now!’s Poptopia on Dec. 2, Chicago’s B96 Jingle Bash on Dec. 7, and New York’s Z100 Jingle Ball on Dec. 8.
