After experimenting with a reduced schedule (without cutting salaries) for two months, New Zealand estate planning firm Perpetual Guardian saw a substantial uptick in employee satisfaction, work-life balance, team engagement, and collaboration, according to researchers from the University of Auckland and Auckland University of Technology.
To make better use of their time, Perpetual opted to automate some routine tasks and employees limited their non-work internet usage. Perpetual is now looking to make the change permanent.
