Cisco Video Network Specialist Job Role

A Cisco Video Network Specialist operates video networks, sets up new users, and installs video endpoints. The individual installs, operates, and supports networked video solutions and deploys and enhances the elements and advantages of the Cisco video environments.

Specialists make suggestions and integrate video, voice, and Cisco Unified Communications technologies. They build the network infrastructure where converged IP networks, voice gateways, routers, and switches are included.

Technicians create architectural solutions and partner with various internal departments within an organization and solution teams to take advantage of several technologies. They assist in implementing a solution into an existing communications network, which will include identifying and integrating products and services.

Technicians develop and deploy wiring and configuration standards for all video systems by conforming to best practices. They create and manage operational and preemptive maintenance tests for all video systems.

Specialists take part in the local area network (LAN) projects to ensure that computing and network architecture solutions are functioning properly, integrated well, and meeting the technical strategy requirements of an organization. They support the performance and maintain existing video and voice systems, besides designing and delivering new products and improving them.

Educational Qualifications and Requirements

To be a Cisco Video Network Specialist, a candidate needs to have a bachelor’s degree in computer science with at least two years’ experience in Cisco Video Conferencing technology in a network environment of an enterprise and a certification in either Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Video or  Freelance Cisco Video Network Specialist
