Approval process edit

Some apparitions are mistakenly considered approved by a Bishop or the Holy See, for example, Our Lady of Akita is approved by the Bishop but not by the Holy See, while the apparitions to Saint Margaret Mary are approved by the Holy See and not just by her Bishop. Usually, approval and disapproval come with a decree or letter, archived in the Archdiocese (for episcopal approval) and Vatican Archives (for papal approval). Sometimes, these letters get lost in the sands of history, or else the apparition is deemed a mere legend, or else a false apparition gets handed down as a legend, so err on the side of prudence. The word "catholic" means "universal" and is related to the idea of the ecclesia. It is a general term for that can be used in various ways. The denomination specified here is the Roman Catholic church, and both Roman and Catholic are proper names as used here. This template is in error (Roman catholic) and I attempted to fix it but it does not seem to have worked. Any ideas? I am not familiar with editing templates. I did make the change, but the Talk page link is then lost. Would a page move be needed? I reverted my correction of capitalization to preserve the Talk page for now. Al Leluia81 (talk) 18:07, 4 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
Chicbyaccident moved the page and renamed it and now it is fixed. Looks great now. Al Leluia81 (talk) 15:59, 9 April 2016 (UTC)ReplyTemplate:Roman Catholicism in Mexico edit

Template:Roman Catholicism in Mexico has a skeleton built, and it would be helpful if anyone was interested to add to it. Thanks in Advance! Twillisjr (talk) 21:31, 22 September 2016 (UTC)Reply Our Lady Mediatrix of All Graces edit

The Vatican has already rejected the "supposed apparitions" in 2015 and the "disobedient" bishop reverting to the Vatican's position in 2016. Can this be finally removed from the template list? Heran et Sang'gres (talk) 12:09, 14 January 2017 (UTC)Reply Saint Joseph and the Angel of Peace at Fatima edit

Does the Fatima apparition approval by the Catholic Church include Joseph, who the children said appeared at the Miracle of the Sun along with Mary, and the Angel of Peace, who appeared to the children pre-Marian appearance? If so then they should be added onto the template as a subsection with a listing of 'Fatima'. Reading the involved pages it would seem that the Joseph Fatima apparition falls into the same approval classification as the associated Marian apparition, and the Angel may be included as well, so asking for assistance in research of the question. Thanks. Randy Kryn (talk) 20:24, 6 May 2020 (UTC)Reply PPEMES, what are your thoughts on this? Randy Kryn (talk) 14:32, 7 May 2020 (UTC)Reply Sorry, no opinion. PPEMES (talk) 15:55, 7 May 2020 (UTC)Reply Although the Fatima apparitions did briefly involve St. Joseph, the Christ Child, and the Angel of Peace, it is predominantly Marian, and is universally considered a "Marian apparition," so its current placement in the template (under "Mary") is appropriate. Jdcompguy (talk) 15:08, 7 May 2020 (UTC)Reply Hello Jdcompguy. Question was more about the papal and Catholic Church official acceptance of the Fatima events, and if it includes only the 1917 Marian apparitions or the entire series of apparitions which would include Joseph and the angels. Randy Kryn (talk) 03:56, 8 May 2020 (UTC)ReplyClarification needed. edit

I think the Template needs to be clearer on what difference is between "Approved", "Approved for Veneration", and "Approved for Widespread Veneration by the Holy See". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.94.89.77 (talk • contribs)

I have revised the section titles to be clearer. Thanks. Jdcompguy (talk) 14:47, 31 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
