The design and content of biographical infoboxes must follow Wikipedia's verifiability policy, as well as infobox and biographical style guideline. All content displayed in this template must adhere to the biographies of living persons policy if applicable. Unsourced or poorly sourced contentious material must be removed immediately from the article and its infobox, especially if potentially libellous. |

A military person infobox may be used to summarize information about an individual military person, such as a soldier or military leader, or for uniformed officers in non-military branches of government.
This template may be used as a module (sub-template) of {{Infobox person}}; see Wikipedia:Infobox modules for guidance on such usage.
The infobox should be added as shown below:

.For parameters such as |awards=

Unbulleted lists can be created with {{plainlist}} or {{ublist}}. The use of <br />
is common but semantically incorrect. See MOS:NOBR.

Many military people and uniformed officers in other services are known primarily for something other than their military service (e.g. Douglas Fairbanks Jr., Vivek Murthy, or James Stewart), and hence it may be desirable to merge this infobox with another one, like {{Infobox person}}. By adding |embed=yes
to the first line of the infobox code, one can embed this infobox into another, displaying one continuous infobox.
Though the process is a little complicated, it is possible to insert this infobox into most if not all other infoboxes. For {{Infobox person}}, this infobox is passed as a "module" using the |module=
syntax. The title for the embedded section can be changed using |embed_title=
.
