Category:People with bipolar disorder

Summary

People with documented histories of being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, formerly known as manic depression, whether their bipolar condition is Type I, Type II, cyclothymia or of unstated type even though officially diagnosed with bipolar disorder. In the case of individuals who lived in a historical period before the diagnostic criteria for bipolar disorder were defined (e.g. Vincent Van Gogh), this category should only be used if a preponderance of verifiable and credible sources are in agreement that the person in question had bipolar disorder. NOTE: People with manic-seeming public persona but without documented diagnostic histories of bipolar disorder do not belong in this category. Also, persons prior to the 20th century may have incomplete or speculative diagnoses of bipolar disorder (e.g. Vincent van Gogh.)
